In 2018 Ruckus produced Stan a documentary about Kiwi singer Stan Walker’s battle with cancer. It was the most watched documentary of the year and also the number one streamed programme.

It was nominated for 4 NZTV Awards 2018 and won four awards at the DocEdge International Film Festival including Best Documentary and Best Director. It also won Best TV Programme at the StopPress Awards.

Stan held true to its subject material and showed a heartwarming personal exploration of a difficult journey. The intimacy of the cinematography, editing and direction allowed an openness from the characters. The film didn’t flinch from showing the family’s raw emotional journey.
